This handmade ceramic tile depicts the profile of a woman circa the Victorian era, and was created to adorn the facade of a fireplace. It can be used anywhere in your home to create a stunning centerpiece.

It was custom carved for the Ravenswood Historical Site in Livermore, CA., to sit opposite one of our other female portraits. The whole layout can be seen in the last photo.

The tile measures approximately 5 7/8" square, and is glazed in fern green glossy crackle glaze.

I carved the image in wax and then poured a plaster mould, which was then pressed into wet clay using our hand press. After first firing in our "bisque" fire, the tiles was glazed and re-fired to about 2150*F. A beautiful and permanent addition to any fireplace, kitchen, or bath.

Please convo me if you have any questions or special requests, and thanks for visiting!!

The image on this tile was designed and created by well-known poet, designer and artist Tessa Nin Crosby, who also happens to be my very talented niece.

This handmade ceramic tile measures approximately 4" x 4" square, and has been high fired to 2150*F with a soft white matte glaze. After it came out of the kiln it was re-fired an iron rich decal which was applied and permanently fired on at 1950*F. The image is an imaginative and meditative motif created by Tessa Crosby. There are 4 cork feet on the bottom.

Hand washing is suggested due to the cork feet on the bottom.

Small Spider magnet for any spooky time of the year!

Homage to a spider that I squashed...tiny version of handmade ceramic tile.

The image of this spider has been carved and pressed into clay to create a small tile. I've glazed this one with an underglaze black that has been wiped off to show the details, and then overglazed with a transparent turquoise gloss. A super strong magnet is securely attached to the back. It measures approximately 1 3/4 wide" x 2 1/8" tall.

I carved the image in wax and then poured a plaster mould. After extruding a thin slab of porcelain clay, the plaster mould is pressed into the clay, the tile is cut around the edges. After drying, the edges are sponged, the tile is fired, glazed, and fired again. A lot of work for a little piece of art! Each one is slightly different - because they're handmade!

If you'd prefer to have it made into a pin or a hanging ornament - just let me know and I'll make it so!

I based this small tile on an original larger one that I carved as homage to a spider that I squashed. In all fairness to myself, it clearly crossed the personal space boundaries posted in my studio policies. AND, it came upon me without notice, and JUMPING at that, so it wasn't pre-meditated squashing, but it was well deserved. I don't make it a habit of squashing spiders, and when they appear near or on me when I'm outside, I usually just brush them away. I admit this one gave me quit a start. Hey, even Miss Muffett, who I hear was known for her calm, collected manner, reacted in a poor fashion when surprised by an arachnid.

Tiny tarantula spiders....lots of them! I created the image and then permanently fired it onto one of my small handmade tiles - fun for Halloween or any time of the year!

I rolled a thin slab of porcelain clay and cut it into a small tile, smoothed the edges and the back, and fired it for the first time. Then I glazed it with a soft satin matte stoneware glaze and fired it a second time to 2165 F (cone 6). After that I added a laser decal of spiders and fired it for the third time to 1954 (cone 04) to permanently adhere the image to the surface of the glazed tile. The back has been left unglazed and is very smooth to the touch. A very strong neodymium magnet is permanently attached to the back.

It measures approximately 1 7/8" wide x 2 1/4 tall".

If you'd rather have me make this into an ornament, just send me a convo and I'll make it so!

Please convo me with any questions or special glaze color requests. Thanks!!

Victorian Style Valentine Heart with Rose and Ribbon for that special person in your life!

This small tile has the image of a Victorian Valentine heart embossed with a rose and hanging from a ribbon - a beautiful gift for that special someone! It measures about 1 5/8" wide X 2" tall. I glazed it with an underglaze black, rubbed the black off the surface - keeping it in the details, and glazed it over with my lovely turquoise crackle.

I carved the design in wax, then I poured a plaster mould and hand pressed it into a thin porcelain clay slab, cut, cleaned, fired, glazed, and fired again. A lot of work for such a little piece of art! Every tile is slightly different, due to their hand made nature.

I've taken this delicately carved little tile and attached a small ribbon for hanging, securely on the back.

Everyone of my small ornaments and magnets come packaged in a small cellophane bag with a decorative card....perfect for gift giving!

Another fun Halloween decoration for your home....a skeleton embossed on my handmade ceramic tile.

This small tile was created by pressing a plaster mould that I made into a soft slab of clay, and then using one of my handmade stamps to create a border all around it. I used an underglaze black to highlight the bones of the skeleton, then glazed the center with a glossy yellow. The border is glazed in my glossy turquoise.

It measure approximately 2 1/4 wide x 4" high.

It doesn't currently have a magnet on the back, but let me know if you'd like one.
