This set of 6 primitive Easter egg ornaments is made from scraps of coordinating antique quilts. Each primitive egg is about 2-1/2" by 3-1/2" at the widest and longest; because they are cut out by hand, sizes and shapes will vary just a bit. The colors are mostly red, black, and white. Some of the white fabrics have a tiny black print (this was known as "men's shirting" back in the late 1800s!), some have a tan plaid or grid pattern, and one even has black polkadots! The back of the eggs are either a "tone on tone" print or plain (formerly) white fabric. Each egg is grunged and stiffened and has a twine hanger.

The first 2 images show the front of the eggs and the 3rd image shows the back of the eggs. Several of these eggs have significant wear, but that is simply the history of the quilt ... and don't you love knowing that these quilts have so much history? Other than this, the quilt pieces are in pretty good condition.

The antique quilts I use in my creations have lived long and useful lives before I rescue the best of what's left and upcycle it into contemporary folk art & home decor. These eggs would look great on your indoor Easter tree!

These tattered egg ornaments were made in my smoke-free and pet-free home studio in Sacramento, California.

These egg ornaments would be the perfect addition to your farmhouse decor, or you may find these eggs appealing for their wabi sabi aesthetic!

This set of 6 primitive Easter egg ornaments is made from scraps of coordinating rustic antique quilts. Each primitive egg is about 2-1/2" by 3-1/2" at the widest and longest; because they are cut out by hand, sizes and shapes will vary a bit. The colors are mostly claret (reddish purple), navy blue, and grungy white. Some of the white fabrics have a very light tan grid or plaid pattern and, unfortunately, there's also a couple of paint specks on one of the claret eggs (years ago, people thought nothing of using "that old quilt" as a dropcloth ... can you imagine?!); this is just part of the history of this particular quilt! Because these eggs are cut from a variety of quilts, the back of each egg varies too! Several of the eggs have a very light "tone on tone" print, one is a faded red and another is blue & white homespun. Each egg is grunged and stiffened and has a twine hanger.

This set of 6 rustic Easter egg ornaments is made from scraps of coordinating antique quilts. Each primitive egg is about 2-1/2" by 3-1/2" at the widest and longest; because they are cut out by hand, sizes and shapes will vary a bit. The colors are mostly pink, blue, and grungy white. Some of the white fabrics have a tiny black print (this was known as "men's shirting" back in the late 1800s!), and one of the tiny triangles was originally apple green (now very grungy green). The back of the eggs are all plain cotton fabric; these eggs were made at different times which is why some of the eggs are darker than others. Each egg is grunged and stiffened and has a twine hanger.

This primitive pumpkin doll is made from cotton fabric. She is 20" tall from the tip of her real stick stem to her toes!

She is stuffed with fiberfill and I've painted her body dark orange then antiqued it with my coffee & vanilla blend. Her eyes are antique shoe buttons, her nose is a rusty square nail and she has a stitched mouth.

Her dress has a black homespun bodice and black Civil War reproduction calico skirt. Beneath her dress, she's wearing muslin bloomers. Her clothes have been grunged with coffee, but that's not so visible on the dark fabrics. I've printed an image of an antique pumpkin seed packet and hand stitched it to the bodice of her dress.

This primitive doll is intended to be a decorative collectible for your home.

Created in my smoke-free and pet-free home studio in Northern California.

Sorry, but this item is not available for international shipping due to the twig stem.

This set of 6 primitive Easter egg ornaments is made from scraps of coordinating antique quilts. The colors are mostly brown, blue, and black, along with (now grungy) white. These eggs are about 2-1/2" by 3-1/2"; because they are cut out by hand, sizes and shapes will vary a bit and there may be 1/4" or so variance in the measurements. Each egg is grunged and stiffened and has a twine hanger.

The antique quilts I use in my creations have lived long and useful lives before I rescue the best of what's left and upcycle it into contemporary folk art & home decor.

The first 3 images show the front of the eggs and the 4th image shows the back of the eggs. The fronts are in very good condition and, with the exception of the egg with the pretty peacock blue back, the backs are in good condition too.

These Easter egg ornaments were made in my smoke-free and pet-free home studio in Sacramento, California.

These tattered egg ornaments would be the perfect addition to your farmhouse decor; if you appreciate the wabi sabi aesthetic, you may find these eggs appealing!
